Chai (Indian Milk Tea)

  • 2 Cup water
  • 4 tea bags , black tea
  • 2 Cup milk , or lowfat milk
  • 4 slice ginger , about 1 in. thick
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom , ground
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 pinch sugar (optional)
Bring water to a boil in a saucepan. Add tea bags, reduce heat, and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove tea bags, add remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Strain and serve.
