Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 2 Cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 Cup shortening
  • 1 3/4 Cup freshly milled flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 Cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 Cup chocolate chips
Cream brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, and shortening. Blend in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate chips and rolled oats. Using greased baking sheets, evenly place spoonfuls of cookie dough. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 ℉. Makes 5 dozen.
