Iced Aniseed Tea

  • 3 Tbsp anise seed
  • 1 1/2 Pint water
  • 1 1/4 Tbsp loose black tea , or 4 tea bags, tags removed
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1 1/4 Tbsp sugar , to taste
  • ice cubes
Combine aniseed and 1 normal cup water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil. Simmer 5-10 minutes or until aniseed is tender. Bring remaining water to a boil in another saucepan. Add tea leaves and remove from heat. Steep 5-6 minutes or until tea is very strong. Strain tea into a large pitcher. Strain liquid from aniseed into tea. Stir in milk and sweeten to taste. Chill and serve over ice.
