Homemade Hummus

  • 1/4 Lb canned chickpeas , with liquid
  • water
  • 2 Tbsp tahini
  • 2 cloves garlic , crushed
  • 1/2 lemons , juiced
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • Romaine lettuce leaves
  • 2 tsp fresh mint , chopped, to serve. optional
Place chick peas in a blender with tahini, garlic, lemon juice, oil, salt, and pepper. Blend to a soft creamy pur'ee. Arrange on a bed of lettuce and sprinkle with mint if desired.
