Waffle Iron Whole Wheat Waffles

  • 1 1/2 Cup whole grain flour
  • 4 Tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 eggs , separated
  • 1 1/2 Cup skim milk
  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp honey
Preheat waffle iron. Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Beat egg yolks until lemon colored. Stir in milk, oil and honey. Blend well and add to flour mixture. Mix thoroughly. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter. Pour batter into iron, in batches, without overfilling. Follow manufacturer's directions for cooking times.
